Write Options
Writing Speed
Writing speed choices in the drop-down list will vary from recorder to recorder. Mode and Cache Size reflect your recorder's settings for this writing speed.Close disc after writing
Only uncheck this option if you intend to create a multi-session disc.Speed test before writing
Recommended. Before writing your disc, test to make sure your system can pass information quickly enough to the CD recorder's buffer to maintain a steady flow of data.
If you do a speed test before writing, select the course of action if the test passes. The choices are Do not begin writing or Begin writing CD-ROM. You may want to choose Do not begin writing if your CD recorder has a caddy (versus a tray) since the speed test usually ejects the CD when the test is complete. With a caddy, you must manually insert the CD to begin writing the CD-ROM, whereas a tray is inserted by the software.
Note Speed test is only available on CD-Recorders that support this feature.
Create Pre-mastered ISO Image in Folder:
If checked, WebCD Packager uses the location specified to write a real ISO 9660 image prior to writing to CD. (A real ISO 9660 image is a single large file which contains the whole set of data and programs as it will appear on a CD-ROM.) The main reason for using this option is speed test failure. The image will be deleted when the CD-ROM write operation is complete.
If unchecked, WebCD Packager writes to CD on-the-fly, that is, directly from the original files (in the folder location specified on the Build Options dialog), without first writing a real ISO 9660 image.
Warning The ISO 9660 image is as large as all the files used to create it, therefore, you will need at least the amount of hard disk space it would take to make a copy of all the files that will make up the CD-ROM. Select a drive and folder that has adequate space.
